As part of our recommendations, we bring you the course on African Art, held by the Vale Maranhão Cultural Center, with researcher Juliana Bevilacqua.
“The initiative was part of the year Beleza Pura program at CCVM, which celebrated the greatness of black people in culture. Educators, students, cultural managers, and interested people in general participated in the course,” and various topics in African art were addressed, including a guided tour of the African exhibition: Dialogue of Forms.
“Juliana Bevilacqua is a historian, specialist in African and Afro-Brazilian art, doctorate in Social History from the University of São Paulo, researcher in institutions such as the AfroBrazil Museum, Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of the University of São Paulo and MASP.” Currently, she is a professor at Queen’s University, Canadá.
