Result of the first edition of our program, Connecting Art Histories: Teaching Non-European Art at UNICAMP (2013-2017), the publication “Non-European Art: historiographical connections from Brazil” is a demonstration of the research carried out in the context of the project and of an expanded art history.
The book addresses pre-Columbian and Amerindian, African and Japanese arts and brings important theoretical-methodological debates that accompany the process of expansion of the field of art history studies today. It is the first collection of texts dedicated to non-European art history in Brazil, and aims to reach beyond the traditional narratives of the discipline and observe its objects of study as an integral part of a mobile and complex network of spatiotemporal interactions.
The book is on sale by Editora Estação Liberdade at the link!
