CIHA SÃO PAULO 2022
CIHA SÃO PAULO 2022 Our recommendation for January/2022 is the 35th Ciha World Congress – MOTION: Migrations, from January 17th
Organized by Cristiana Barreto, Helena Pinto Lima and Carla James Betancourt, the book “Cerâmicas Arqueológicas da Amazônia – Rumo a Uma Nova Síntese” (2016) represents the first reference work that provides a solid basis for contemporary studies of ceramics in the region.
The joint publication by Iphan with the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi presents the result of numerous recent and ongoing archaeological researches that deal with ceramics as a source of analysis and interpretation, to reconstruct the enormous diversity of human occupations in the Amazon. It brings together articles on the various areas of the region and their cultural characteristics, and is the result of the International Workshop Archaeological Ceramics of the Amazon: Towards a New Synthesis, held by the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, in Belém (PA), in 2014.
