CIHA SÃO PAULO 2022
CIHA SÃO PAULO 2022 Our recommendation for January/2022 is the 35th Ciha World Congress – MOTION: Migrations, from January 17th
Coordinated by professors and researchers Anne Rapp Py-Daniel and Myrtle Pearl Shock, “Archaeology in Schools” is an extension project of UFOPA with the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, which seeks to disseminate and democratize the knowledge produced by archaeological research carried out in Monte Alegre and Santarém.
As a result of the program, four textbooks and pedagogical kits were released seeking to bring school students closer to the reality of the archeologist’s work, with materials that tell a little of what the archeology professional does and researches. In addition, the project and the materials address “subjects such as the Amazon reality, history, and archeology, which are still little discussed in schools for lack of didactic resources,” as Dr. Py-Daniel puts it.
